Analisis Big Five Personality Buya Hamka Melalui Pendekatan Psikologi Biografi Retrospektif

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi profil kepribadian Buya Hamka pada kelima dimensi Big Five Personality berdasarkan analisis biografi terverifikasi, menginterpretasikan kaitannya dengan kontribusi Hamka dalam bidang agama, sastra, dan sosial-politik, serta memberikan kontribusi metodologis pada psikologi biografi tokoh Islam Indonesia. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan analisis biografi retrospektif dengan sumber-sumber yang dapat diverifikasi secara publik, meliputi Kenang-Kenangan Hidup (1981), Pribadi dan Martabat Buya Hamka (1983), biografi akademik Darwis (2008), dan karya-karya Hamka sendiri; validitas dijaga melalui triangulasi sumber di mana klaim kepribadian hanya diajukan apabila didukung minimal dua sumber independen. Hasil analisis menunjukkan profil sangat tinggi pada Conscientiousness, tinggi pada Openness to Experience dan Agreeableness, moderat-tinggi pada Extraversion, serta rendah pada Neuroticism; kombinasi dominan antara conscientiousness dan openness mendasari produktivitas intelektual, inovasi sastra, dan kepemimpinan sosial-politik Hamka. Artikel ini mengangkat kerangka Big Five berbasis analisis biografi retrospektif sebagai pendekatan untuk memahami bagaimana dimensi kepribadian membentuk kontribusi historis tokoh, sekaligus menawarkan model analisis yang dapat dikembangkan dalam studi tokoh Islam Indonesia.
